Most and least expensive areas of Tynemouth and North Shields revealed - one street's average house price is £1m
House prices vary by the best part of a million pounds across the space of just four North Tyneside postcodes.
If you want a property bargain try North Shields, while data shows how prices in some Tynemouth and Cullercoats streets are pushing seven figures.
That's according to land registry data for homes sold in the last five years. The numbers crunched by firm Property Solvers suggest that across the NE27, NE28, NE29, and NE30 postcode areas, the most expensive places to buy are King Edward Road, The Broadway and Beverley Gardens.
Only streets with at least three sales in the last five years have been included, but King Edward Road - which is in the heart of Tynemouth next to the golf club - has seen prices hit a stunning average of £925,833. The Broadway - just along the road - and Beverley Gardens in Cullercoats will both cost you the best part of a million too.
The former - specifically a postcode area at the Tynemouth end - averaged £849,083 from three sales, while the beautiful cul-de-sac in Cullercoats averaged £798,842 from six sales. Also on the list were Kingsway, Millview Drive and Huntingdon Place.
By contrast, the cheapest areas of that part of North Tyneside tend to be in North Shields. Cheap properties can be found in Dexter House and Hutton House - averaging £46,612 and £52,000 respectively.
Also on the list are Northam Road, Illingworth House, Vicarage Street and Barrasford Street. However, some streets with less than three sales - not included in the data - have been both more expensive and cheaper than these averages respectively.
These included a property on Preston Park, NE29, which sold for £3,250,000 and, at properties that sold for £36,000 and under on Spence Terrace (NE29), Brinkburn Street (NE29) and Waterville Terrace (NE29).
