Sam Fender fans are 'convinced' he's going to be performing a 'secret' set at a new bar in Newcastle, with him fuelling the fire thanks to a post he made on Instagram on Monday night.
Since he had his big break in the industry at the start of 2019, thanks to winning the Brits Critics' Choice award, North Shields musician Sam has established itself as one of the biggest names in British music. His first two albums - Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under - both made number 1, with the lead single from the latter giving Sam his first top 10 in the official UK top 40.
Other tracks which have been streamed by millions across the globe include Will We Talk, Getting Started and Spit of You, all of which were on the setlist when Sam took to the stage for two sell out shows at St James' Park last year. That was the last time Sam played in Newcastle, having previously topped the bill at the likes of This is Tomorrow and Mouth of the Tyne, but now, thanks to a post Sam made on his Instagram story on Monday, some fans now think he'll be the star guest at The Newgate Social,. a new live music haunt which will have its official launch on August 30.

A few weeks ago, a post on the bar's Instagram page teased a 'secret' set from a North East music star on launch night, along with the clue: "He’s currently the fastest Rising Star North East, is extremely popular within the indie genre and has sold out multiple venues around the world! It’s going to be a biggin’!"
Now while some people think that the clues point to the artist in question being Newcastle's own Andrew Cushin, who has played across the globe, both on his own and supporting Louis Tomlinson, the post Sam made has led fans to think it could actually be him, with them snapping up tickets for August 30 just in case.
Posting a photo of the Newgate Social post, which actually uses Sam's track The Borders as the soundtrack, along with one of Sam's story, in a fan group on Facebook, one member wrote: 'All clues point to Sam and if it’s not it’ll be a great night anyway" as another commented: 'Booked and booked a hotel, this better be right I'll be buzzing"
