15 pictures of the Sunderland City Runs as thousands of runners descend on Wearside
People had the option of the flat and fast 10K, a spring Half-Marathon, or the Active Sunderland Big 3K.
Thousands of runners descended on Wearside to take part in the Sunderland City Runs.
Runners had the option of the flat and fast 10K, a spring Half-Marathon, or the Active Sunderland Big 3K, with more than 4,000 runners taking part.
There was something for everyone at one of the north’s largest running events, with races taking place through the city and along the sea front, with famous bridges providing a stunning backdrop to all three distances.
From first-timers to experienced runners, the course and atmosphere made for fast times as well as a lot of fun. For this reason, there were thousands on the start line this morning to kick off the event.
