Police have appealed to the public for their help after a scooter was stolen in Sunderland.

At around 11.55am on Wednesday, July 10, officers received a report of a break-in at a property on Portsmouth Road in Pennywell. An offender entered a communal residential building and stole a scooter from the storage area.

He then left the scene. As part of their enquiries, officers from Northumbria Police have now identified a man they would like to speak to in connection with the burglary.

He was believed to be in the area at the time of the offence and they think he could have valuable information that can assist offers.

Northumbria Police urged the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact police by sending a direct message on social media or using the live chat function on their website. Anyone with information can also call 101, quoting crime number 080544C/24.
