Gateshead
Gateshead is a town in Tyne and Wear and lies on the southern bank of the River Tyne. It dates back to Roman times, but its history is deep rooted in both the coal and iron industries. The town has now become well known for its iconic architecture such as the Sage Gateshead, the Angel of the North, and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
