Newcastle United made a busy start to the transfer window and after a quiet couple of weeks they are ready to make a splash in the final few weeks of the summer market.
The Magpies have already secured the signings of Lloyd Kelly, Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy, Lewis Hall and Miodrag Pivas but they are still in the market for a new centre-half and a right-winger.
They could also be in the market for a right-back and forward, too, should Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson depart amid mooted exits from Tyneside this summer.
Newcastle have already sold Yankuba Minteh to Brighton and Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest and Miguel Almiron continues to be linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
We'll keep on top of all the latest Newcastle transfer news right here, with live updates as they happen each and every day.

Karius' next move
Loris Karius may be on his way to AC Milan after being offered a contract by the Italian side, according to CalcioMercato.
The German goalkeeper has been without a club since leaving Newcastle earlier this summer. His partner is an Italian sports presenter who has frequently spoken out about wanting Karius closer to her in her native country.
'Blockbuster signing'
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe hopes that one day he will be the manager to welcome a world-record signing to St James' Park - just like Kevin Keegan did in 1996 when the Magpies signed Alan Shearer.
Portsmouth have bid accepted for former Newcastle youngster
According to reports, Portsmouth have had a bid accepted for former Newcastle United forward Elias Sorensen, who now plays for Danish side Esbjerg.
Sorensen was prolific at youth level for Newcastle but never quite made the step up to the first team. But after scoring goals regularly at senior level in his native Denmark, he looks set for a second crack at English football with the Championship side.
Pompey have made a bid between £300,000 and £400,000 for the 24-year-old which has been accepted.
Atletico Madrid make Conor Gallagher approach
Gallaghher had previously been linked with a move to Newcastle United but, according to the Times, Atletico Madrid have made an approach to sign the Chelsea midfielder.
The England international has 12 months remaining on his Chelsea contract and the Blues could well sell him this summer in order to receive pure profit for selling an academy graduate.
The report claims Chelsea have valued at Gallagher at £50million and Atleti have identified him and Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino as their top midfield targets this summer.
Tokyo tour diary - The Japan transfer fairytale that everyone at Newcastle United can buy into
Newcastle United arrived in Japan just 24 hours after a depleted-looking team pulled off a comfortable 2-0 win over Hull City some 5,800 miles away from stifling-hot Tokyo.
With sporting director Paul Mitchell on the plane, the brief seems to be clear from the outside with an inspirational signing required before the big kick off.
Having flown from Thailand and then Singapore, Newcastle's top brass in the summer of 1996 had been preparing a signing that wouldn't just rock the Toon, it would rock the world of football. Somehow Newcastle managed to pull off a world record signing in £15million Alan Shearer and, by the time they arrived in Osaka, Japan, the deal had been made public. Newcastle actually lost that game against Gamba Osaka 3-1 with Les Ferdinand scoring what would be his last goal in the iconic number 9 jersey.
Ferdinand recalled:
"We were on a pre-season tour of the Far East and I was running to duty-free when Kevin pulled me down and said I was the first to know we were signing Shearer.
"Then he asked about the number nine and said Alan had worn it all his career. I was like: 'So have I.' He then said Alan wanted penalties so he had to ask Peter Beardsley about that and I replied: 'I thought I was the first to know.'
"I got that I had never been the kid on the Gallowgate End watching the number nine score for Newcastle and knew what it meant to him. I had no grudges against him - but my relationship with Kevin was never the same after that."

Former Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce linked with shock international job
Former Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has been linked with a surprise return to management.
The 63-year-old has been out of work since departing from West Bromwich Albion in 2022, despite recent links circulating regarding a possible move to Burnley. Instead, the Clarets opted to appoint Scott Parker earlier this summer.
Bruce's managerial career has now spanned over 25 years in total, with the ex-Magpies boss in charge at Newcastle United from 2019-2021. He is most notably remembered for bringing fans' favourite Joelinton to the club from 1899 Hoffenheim for £40 million, breaking the club's transfer fee record in the process.
According to recent reports from MailSport, Bruce has been approached by Jamaica about their currently vacant managerial position. The former Manchester United defender is seen as a 'serious contender' for the role and has already held talks with officials from the Caribbean country.

Newcastle United "unveil" Blackburn Rovers star as next transfer as signing images emerge
Newcastle United look to have completed the signing of Blackburn Rovers youngster Rory Finneran after images of his unveiling were leaked online.
The 16-year-old's move remains subject to confirmation but it looks like Newcastle have won the race for his signature pending on a compensation package. Finneran will arrive at Newcastle after making his senior debut for Blackburn in last season's FA Cup in a 5-2 win over Cambridge.
But after pictures of a beaming Finnernan appeared online, it now appears that his move to Tyneside is inevitable.

Newcastle target £50m FFP boost with next transfer that will save them millions
Newcastle United are said to be eyeing up a potential move for a player likened to Everton's Dominic Calvert Lewin.
Bidding to find clever ways to help stave away any lingering FFP woes this summer, the Magpies have sold both Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson already in recent months, with a combined total of £65million having been brought in to help balance the books.
A move for Calvert-Lewin had been touted but Eddie Howe's men were forced to walk away from a potential deal after Everton reportedly pitched a £50million valuation for the forward.
With plans to recruit a younger alternative now touted, Newcastle could be able to save millions in the process as they prepare for the new season to get under way.
According to reports from Alan Nixon, United have been linked with Sheffield United striker Will Osula. The 20-year-old played 21 games for the Blades last season, as they were relegated from the Premier League. A fee of around £10million has been brandished in recent days, with the forward however failing to find the net across the entirety of the 2023/24 term.
Using Macro Football’s player impact tool, which uses analytics to understand a player’s seasonal impact to see which players in European football's top five leagues are most similar to Osula's characteristics, Calvert-Lewin has a 98.7% similarity rating, which would indicate the type of player Newcastle are looking at this summer.

Newcastle United squad to 'vote in' new leadership group member with Anthony Gordon mooted
Dan Burn has stated that the Magpies are looking for a new recruit for the leadership group after the departure of Matt Ritchie. There is even a chance that could be Anthony Gordon given his new levels of maturity in recent times.
Burn said:
"People lead in different ways, there’s no set way to do it but with Matty Ritchie leaving we’ll be voting in a new player in the next couple of weeks.
"There are people ready to step up. I think there could be a lot more than five players in this leadership group. I think it's important that you keep it quite tight though, just so you don't have too many opinions going in. But yeah, there's lots of lads that could come in and make that step up."

Newcastle United transfer state of play as five fringe stars face uncertain futures
Newcastle United are pushing hard to secure much-needed incoming deals this summer - but Eddie Howe also has decisions to make when it comes to offloading some fringe St James' Park outcasts.
As the clock counts down before Newcastle must name their 25-man Premier League squad next month, one eye is on making sure some players on the cusp of the first-team are either shipped out or bedded into Howe's setup. The likes of Ryan Fraser and Isaac Hayden face no future on Tyneside but lingering questions remain over the likes of Martin Dubravka and Jamal Lewis.
As such, Chronicle Live has the latest state of play regarding the men on the outskirts of Howe's plans.

Eddie Howe comments on Malick Thiaw interest
Eddie Howe has admitted for the first time that he does have an interest in AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw. But insists there are "no updates" as negotiations between Newcastle and Milan continue.
Howe said:

The truth about Kieran Trippier's Instagram post
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has played down Kieran Trippier's Instagram post which led to a frenzy of talk that the England full-back was on the brink of leaving St James' Park.
Trippier posed with Tom Spring, who is currently working as head of scouting at Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq, and posted a caption reading "good meeting" suggesting that the evening had been business rather than pleasure. But Howe said he was not concerned about Trippier's future.
Howe told Chronicle Live:
"It is difficult for me to comment on. For Kieran he is on holiday and he is having down time after exploits with the national team.
"Yeah, he has total freedom to enjoy his holiday. The picture in question is a personal relationship, I don't think it is related to any club."
When asked if Trippier would be linking up with Newcastle after their tour of Japan, Howe said: "Yeah, absolutely."

Newcastle United handed £1bn boost after club's valuation revealed following Amanda Staveley exit
Newcastle United are now worth £1billion according to a report in Bloomberg following the departure of Amanda Staveley from the boardroom.
The exit of the Ripon financier sees Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund increase its stake in United to 85%. Bloomberg reflected in their report: "The current valuation of Newcastle puts the team at roughly the same valuation as seven-time European winner AC Milan, which was sold by Elliott Management Corp. in 2022 to Redbird Capital Partners for $1.3 billion."
Staveley left with the best wishes of Toon chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan earlier this summer and said:
"Amanda and Mehrdad will forever have our tremendous thanks and well-wishes as they move on to focus on their other business interests.
"We have achieved so much together since 2021, including achieving Champions League football in our first full season as stewards of this incredible club.
"The ownership group, together with CEO Darren Eales and the club's executive team, will continue to build on these foundations for long-term, sustainable success for the team and our amazing fans, and we are excited about the future prospects for Newcastle United."

Newcastle United launch brand new third kit ahead of 2024/25 Premier League campaign
Newcastle United have today released details of their stunning new third kit for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
An eye-catching mint design, with colours including green, white and black, the Magpies crest has been redesigned in a homage to their storied past from the late 1980s. Inspired by the 1990/00 adidas away kit, the three stripes return to the shoulders as well as a delicate pop of green to bring the shirt to life.
The new release, available to purchase now in the official club store at St. James’ Park and at shop.newcastleunited.com, will be worn on the pitch for the first time by the men’s team during a pre-fixture against Yokohama F. Marinos in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday 3rd August.
Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Newcastle United Football Club, said in an official club communication:
“Adidas has a deep understanding of Newcastle United's DNA, and that is clear to see in the design of our new third kit.
"From the use of the club's nostalgic 1980s crest, through to a design evoking Sir Bobby Robson's team at the turn of the millennium, it is an innovative approach to a classic kit.
"We look forward to seeing the team wearing it for the first time in Japan, and to seeing our fans around the world wearing their colours with pride across the exciting season ahead."

Amanda Staveley reveals Anthony Gordon transfer truth
Staveley remained on board during Newcastle's last gasp struggle to beat the PSR deadline that resulted in Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh being sold. And she admitted that she feared Anthony Gordon or Alexander Isak may be sold.
"I knew what was coming in terms of me leaving but the fans and PIF deserved every focus of mine. Had I left before (the PSR deadline) and we’d breached, then that would have been bad. It was very, very difficult, but I was determined to make sure Darren has a clear runway.
"My biggest concern was that we’d lose Alex (Isak) or Anthony (Gordon) because Liverpool chased him and both are extraordinary players. Negotiating is tough because you have to pretend it means nothing to you when it means everything."

Howe on his and Bruno's future
Eddie Howe has shut down talk of taking the England job and believes none of his players need to be told he is fully committed to Newcastle United.
Howe cut a composed figure as he faced both the English and Japanese media at a packed press conference on the outskirts of Tokyo. The Toon boss shunted any suggestion he was waiting for the FA's call for the vacant hot seat and preferred to talk about getting Newcastle back to the Champions League.
Howe was inevitably asked about England again and said from Komazawa's Olympic Park complex today: "I have had no contact whatsoever from anybody - I am fully committed to Newcastle.
"There is nothing to talk about, I do not need to address the players. They know how by how I act and I hope they can see how I am on a daily basis to see how committed I am to the club too."

Fringe players state of play
Newcastle United are pushing hard to secure much-needed incoming deals this summer - but Eddie Howe also has decisions to make when it comes to offloading some fringe St James' Park outcasts.

Dortmund chance?
Newcastle United have been given the transfer greenlight to solve their forward issues this summer, with a former target set to be available.
The Magpies were tracking Borussia Dortmund's teenage sensation Youssoufa Moukoko last year as his contract was set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season. However, he committed his future to Dortmund, ending any hopes of an imminent move. However, those transfer hopes can be rekindled after his agent, Patrick Williams, announced his client's plans to leave Signal Iduna Park.

Lloyd Kelly update
Eddie Howe insists Lloyd Kelly is 'close' to featuring for Newcastle United as the Magpies faithful wait patiently for a first look at their new defensive asset.
The defender, 25, has not played a single minute during pre-season so far after being left out of recent clashes against SpVgg Unterhaching, Burnley and Hull City. Kelly is not said to be injured, with Howe instead clarifying that the former Bournemouth star is simply trying to get up to speed with Newcastle's intense training style.

Thiaw agent speaks out
The agent of Newcastle United target Malick Thiaw has shut down reports his client has agreed personal terms with the Magpies in recent days.
Unconfirmed speculation was spread far and wide on social media on Monday, claiming the AC Milan star Thiaw had given the green light to a move to Tyneside. Gordon Stipic, the German's representative, was quick to publicly rubbish such reports.
Big transfer boost
Newcastle United's chances of signing AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw have increased in recent days after the Italian side moved closer to striking a deal for Strahinja Pavlovic.
The RB Salzburg centre-back is expected to being confirmed as the newest San Siro recruit this week, which will open the door for fellow centre-back Thiaw to say his goodbyes. Milan are ready to offload the German international for a fee of around £30m, with Pavlovic set to join the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu at the heart of Paulo Fonseca's defence.
Youngsters on their way?
Eddie Howe has left both Garang Kuol and Alex Murphy out of his 29-man Newcastle United squad heading to Japan, with both youngsters expected to be sent elsewhere this summer.
Newcastle informed over winger
Italian outlet La Nazione claim Nico Gonzalez’s Fiorentina exit has now ‘gained momentum’.
Andrea Colpani has joined the club from Monza, pushing Gonzalez closer to the exit door given the two play in the same position. The Serie A side are said to be open to selling for a fee of €35 million [£30m] and Newcastle are said to have been 'informed' of this development.
Gonzalez is an Argentine international who would be a welcomed addition at right-wing.
Transfer hope
Newcastle United transfer supremo Paul Mitchell has travelled with the Magpies to Japan in order to help drive transfer business forward in time for the big kick off.
The former Monaco sporting director was on board the flight that departed Tyneside on Sunday with the "collaboration" that Eddie Howe spoke of 24 hours earlier in full flow. Despite concerns about "boundaries" between Howe's backroom staff and incoming figurehead Mitchell the pair are believed to have quickly resolved any issues.
Who is Will Osula?
Newcastle have been linked with a £10m move for Sheffield United striker Will Osula. But who is the young forward?
