Northern Lights
The Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, is a natural light display caused by charged particles colliding in the Earth's atmosphere and is seen above the magnetic poles of the northern and southern hemisphere. Auroras happen in the upper atmosphere and are best viewed in dark, clear skies. There are North East Northern Lights forecasts and readers' pictures capturing the most recent showing of the Northern Lights on this page.
