Northumbria University
Northumbria University has its origins in three regional colleges which were amalgamated in 1969 to form Newcastle Polytechnic, gaining university status in 1992. The University has two main campuses: City Campus in the centre of Newcastle and Coach Lane Campus at Cochrane Park. Notable alumni include athlete Steve Cram, musician Sting and England rugby international Jonny Wilkinson.
