The new Dive into the Blue attraction at STACK Seaburn is a 15 minute journey that can take visitors to see ancient ruins and gigantic whales.

The experience has launched in shipping containers at STACK - and has been produced as part of a collaboration between the venue and Newcastle-based innovative production company, Tiny Dragon, along with video design company Pixel-Lux. Dive into the Blue launched on Friday, July 12.

Its digital technology creates what has been described as "Blue Planet meets The Meg". Suitable for anyone aged five and older, the 15 minute experience will sees visitors meet with a whole host of sea creatures.

It has been produced using the Unreal Engine graphics software familiar to many from the Playstation. Mark Calvert, one of the founders of Tiny Dragon, said: "It's a 15 minute journey under the sea and back. You'll meet dolphins, sea monsters, whales, manta rays and all manner of different fish. It's made using a Playstation engine called Unreal - so you are completely immersed."

He said that the attraction would be great for families - but added: "And also for an adult it's really relaxing too, so come along!"

Created especially for the STACK, Dive into the Blue has seen two shipping containers transformed into a “submarine” where visitors will go on a 15 minute underwater trip. It is open from noon each day.

Dive into the Blue runs until September 22. Tickets are just £7.50.
