This is South Tyneside Festival: Pictures as Sister Sledge entertain the crowds
The event in Bents Park is one of four free concerts taking place in South Shields over the summer.
Music lovers have headed to South Tyneside this weekend to enjoy a whole host of class acts.
This is South Tyneside Festival has been taking place at Bents Park in South Shields and crowds have been entertained all weekend. On Sunday, legendary act Sister Sledge headlined the free concert - and the crowd was in full swing.
Formed at the height of the 1970s disco era, Sister Sledge were originally a four-piece group formed by sisters Debbie, Kim, Joni and Kathy Sledge. Famed for hits like We Are Family, Frankie, He’s The Greatest Dancer and Lost in Music, the band have enjoyed platinum-selling albums and many of their tracks continue to be remixed today.

The festival has already included Jason Donovan and the schedule of events is set to be finished off with Haircut 100 performing on Sunday 4th August.
