Tosin Adarabioyo has opened up on his decision to sign for Chelsea rather than Newcastle United this summer following the expiration of his contract at Fulham.
Newcastle are known to be in the market for another central defender this summer following the arrival of Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer.
Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are set to miss the start of the season through injury, leaving United light on options in the centre of defence.
As such, Adarabioyo was identified as an attractive option, given he was available on a free transfer. However, he opted to join Chelsea instead, signing a four year contract at Stamford Bridge.

And the 26-year-old has said the decision to make the move across West London, rather than to the North East, was a 'no brainer'.
"You're better off asking my agent about that," Adarabioyo told BBC Sport when asked about signing for Chelsea over Newcastle.
"Once I knew Chelsea were interested, I was fully focused on that. When it came down to it, to hear the project that's going on here, it's amazing. It’s an amazing project, an amazing club, so for me it was a no-brainer."
The Magpies remain in the market for a central defender as a result, and have been heavily linked with a move for AC Milan star Malick Thiaw.
Kelly is one of five signings at St James' Park so far this summer, having been joined by the arrivals of John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Miodrag Pivas, as well as the permanent signing of Lewis Hall.
