Two North East lads have been shortlisted for the Mr England contest.
A national search for the next Mr England is under way and applications are open until July 31. Angie Beasley, who organised the Miss England 2019 final in Newcastle, is now looking for the next Mr World and says there are some great entries now coming in after a slow start to the contest.
Two North East lads are now among the shortlisted contestants so far,, with Angie anticipating a "tough competition". The two men from our region include a solder and a personal trainer.

Manuel Alcantara Turner, 22, from Whitley Bay serves in the British Army as a Kings Guard and has never entered a contest like Mr England before. Sean McKitterrick, 25, works as a personal trainer in Newcastle and says he always strives to do better in his life and make people happy with themselves.
Up to 20 shortlisted contenders from over 100 entries already received are invited for a photoshoot on a city sightseeing London bus tour on Sunday, August 4 before the final 10 are selected for a photoshoot, final interview round, and catwalk at the City Rooms in Leicester. The winner of Mr England will be announced at the end of the final contest day on August 20.
Mr England will then go on to represent England at Mr World in Vietnam in September. To apply, complete the entry form here
